FAQ

Telemedicine service is only applicable when the insured is 12 years old or above and situated in Hong Kong. 

If patients have the following symptoms, we highly suggest that you should seek consultation in hospital:
 
  • Pregnant
  • Fainting, feeling dizzy, or general weakness
  • Sudden changes in vision, such as inability to see in one or both eyes
  • Confusion or coma, slurred speech, emotional instability, etc.
  • Sudden pain
  • Has had a severe fall or bleeding
  • Severe or non-stop diarrhea or vomiting
  • Hematemesis
  • Obstacles in speaking or moving hands and feet
For conditions that are not listed, doctors will assess if an insured is suitable for virtual consultation based on his/her medical conditions.

Telemedicine service only provide general medical partitioner service at the moment.

The service hours of the Telemedicine service is Monday to Friday, from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

If need, doctor can prescribe sick leave certificate.

If the consultation is completed before 5:30pm, prescribed medicine (if any) will normally be delivered directly to you on the same day. Actual delivery time varies depending on the location, delivery service may be delayed due to busy service. If not, delivery would be arranged on the next working day. Prescription delivery service is not applicable to medication that requires refrigeration and rural areas (such as Lo Wu, Mai Po, Man Kam To, Ta Kwu Ling, Island District and restricted areas).

Currently, the cost of the Telemedicine service covers consultation fee, 3 days basic medication and medication courier service. Please note that the charge is subject to change from time to time without prior notice.

Yes. After the consultation, ECHealthcare will issue a payment link to customer for settlement. Upon settlement, extra medication will be delivered to your designated address together with the basic medication, medical certificate and /or referral letter (if any).

No.

Claims condition depends on the clause and terms under each plan and it varies from plan to plan. Please refer to the policy provision for details.

The service is exclusive for selected customers. For details, please refer to "Eligibility" page for the eligible Individual Life Medical Plans list.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
  1. Telemedicine Service is provided by EC Healthcare. EC Healthcare is an independent third-party company. AIA shall not be responsible or liable for any medical service, product and solicitation effort provided by EC Healthcare, which is not sold or marketed by AIA.
  2. Telemedicine Service is only applicable to insured physically in Hong Kong.
  3. Telemedicine Service involves the use of audio, video or other electronic communications to interact with you, consult with your healthcare provider and/or review your medical information for the purpose of diagnosis, therapy, follow-up and/or education. The use of video technology to deliver healthcare and educational services is a new technology and may not be equivalent to direct patient to physician contact.
  4. EC Healthcare and AIA may revise the terms and conditions of the Telemedicine Service without prior notice.
  5. Telemedicine service is the additional benefit and does not form part of the eligible plan. AIA has the absolute discretion to terminate the Telemedicine Service at any time without prior notice.
