Stay Alert and Beware of Scams
 
AIA Hong Kong & Macau has been alerted to three fraudulent email addresses and one fraudulent website. The phishing email sent by three fraudulent email addresses (creativefolks@my.beacons.email, zerlake@my.beacons.email and rovergt@my.beacons.email) on 7 November 2024, with the subject line of "Refund Notification – HKD 4,476.50", contains a clickable URL (hxxps://bit[.]ly/3AkL76R) that redirects the recipient to a fraudulent website (hxxps://aljouf[.]com/.), which purports to be our AIA+ application web page. The fraudulent website (https[:]//aia-plus[.]com) was reported by Police on 10 November 2024.
 
We want to emphasise that such email and website have not been created, operated, nor endorsed by AIA. We take this matter very seriously and we are actively coordinating with relevant law enforcement and regulatory authorities for further investigation. We reserve the right to pursue legal action.

AIA Hong Kong would like to remind the public and our customers that if you are approached by someone who claims to be representing AIA in a manner that raises any doubt or suspicion in your mind, please contact our Customer Hotline on (852) 2232 8888 or email us at hk.customer@aia.com to verify the person's identity.
AIA Macau would like to remind the public and our customers that if you have any query on our non-face-to-face sales of life insurance products or if you have any doubt or suspicion on someone who claims to be representing AIA Macau and invite you to non-face-to-face sales activities, please contact our Customer Hotline at (853) 8988-1822 or email us at aiamacau@aia.com for enquiry. Besides, you may also check the person's insurance intermediary license status on the website of the Monetary Authority of Macao by following the steps below:
  • Go to the Monetary Authority of Macao Homepage > Click on Insurance Sector> Click on Insurance Intermediaries > Click on Insurance Intermediary License > Click on In-force licenses > Input the name of the insurance intermediary
In the digital age, phishing scams are quickly becoming a common means for scammers to trick people into giving out their personal information. AIA Hong Kong and Macau would like to remind our agents that we will not send SMS or email messages with embedded hyperlinks directing customers to any website or mobile application to carry out transactions, or request for sensitive personal information (including login passwords and one-time-password) from customers.
To safeguard customers' personal information, please remind customers to access to their AIA accounts by entering our official website link (https://www.aia.com.hk) directly or using AIA's mobile applications.
  • Do not click any hyperlinks (or open the attachments) in any suspicious SMS or email messages
  • Do not input any personal information into any applications or websites they are directed to via embedded hyperlinks in SMS or email messages
  • Do keep their login credentials and other personal information private and secure

Statement on unauthorised sales platforms

It has come to our attention that certain companies / websites are using our company logo as well as copying and displaying information about our insurance products via various electronic channels or social media platforms without the company's approval or authorisation. This act is an infringement of AIA's intellectual property rights and may also be in violation of regulation concerning offshore solicitation. These websites claim that they have partners relationship with Hong Kong's Insurance and Financial Consultants. AIA hereby declares that it has no connection with these unauthorised sales platforms and has already reminded our business partners that it is prohibited to have any business arrangement with these unauthorised companies / websites directly or indirectly.
