From Cancer Guardian Series / Cancer Guardian 2 Series ("Original Plan") to Cancer Guardian 3 Series ("New Plan") (including Pearl versions)
 
Claims Handling
If the same benefit item is covered under in both Original Plan and New Plan, the terms "Issue Date" and "Commencement Date" as referred to the definition of "Covered Cancer" under the New Plan (including any Supplementary Contracts) shall mean the Issue Date and Commencement Date respectively, of the corresponding coverage under the Original Plan. However, if such benefit item is covered under the New Plan only, the above terms shall mean the Issue Date and Commencement Date respectively, of the corresponding coverage under the New Plan.
 
The Prevention and Early Detection Benefits as provided under the New Plan (if applicable) shall become effective when the New Plan has been in force for three Policy Years after the plan change.

From StepUp Medical Protection Plan ("Original Plan") to StepUp Medical Protection Plan 2 ("New Plan")
 
Claims Handling
The terms "Issue Date" and "Commencement Date" as referred to in the definitions of "Covered Illness", "Covered Injury", "Pre-existing Condition" and/or in the Exclusions clause (if applicable) under the New Plan (including any Supplementary Contracts) shall be deemed to mean the Issue Date and Commencement Date respectively, of the corresponding coverage under the Original Plan.
 
In the case of Sickness or Injury which has been treated within 90 days before the Commencement Date of the New Plan and provided such Sickness or Injury is not otherwise excluded under the New Plan, any benefit(s) payable for a claim related to such Sickness or Injury shall be limited to the lesser of:
a) the benefit payable under the Original Plan; and
b) the benefit that would have been payable under the New Plan had such Sickness or Injury occurred after the Commencement date of the New Plan.

From CEO Medical Series / CEO Medical 2 Series / CEO Medical 3 Series / CEO Medical 5 Series / Executive Health Series ("Original Plan") to CEO Essence 2 Series (basic plan only) ("New Plan") (including Pearl versions)
 
Claims Handling
Within 30 days after plan change, lesser total benefit payout amount (after deductible, if any) for the claim will be paid between the Original Plan and the New Plan. Benefits under the New Plan that the Original Plan doesn’t cover will be excluded from the calculation. For pre-existing conditions after the 30 days plan change waiting period, lesser benefit amount between the Original Plan and the New Plan will be paid.

From CEO Essence Series / CEO Essence 2 Series / CEO Medical Series / CEO Medical 2 Series / CEO Medical 3 Series / Executive Health Series ("Original Plan") to CEO Medical 5 Series ("New Plan") (including Pearl versions)

From Executive Care Pro 2 ("Original Plan") to Prime Care Pro 2 ("New Plan")
 
Claims Handling
Only applicable to Plan 100 of Executive Care Pro 2 policy
 
For new covered illnesses and limits:
- 90 days of waiting period applies
- All pre-existing condition before the effective date of the New Plan will be excluded
 

From PAC Select 2 ("Original Plan") to PAC Select 3 ("New Plan")
 
Claims Handling
For the avoidance of doubt, if the same benefit item is covered under in PAC Select 2 and PAC Select 3, the terms "Issue Date" and "Commencement Date" under the PAC Select 3 shall mean the Issue Date and Commencement Date respectively, of the corresponding coverage under the PAC Select 2. However, if such benefit item is covered under the PAC Select 3 only, the above terms shall mean the Issue Date and Commencement Date respectively, of the corresponding coverage under the PAC Select 3.
 
The "Medical Appliances Subsidy" and "Accidental Reconstructive Surgery Benefit" under PAC Select 3 - Accidental Medical Expenses Reimbursement Benefit shall become effective only if the Injury occurs on or after the commencement date of PAC Select 3.
 
Subject to the requirement on waiting period, the "Intensive Care Unit Benefit" under Daily Hospital Income Benefit as provided under PAC Select 3 – Daily Hospital Income Benefit shall become effective only if the Confinement occurs on or after the commencement date of PAC Select 3.
 
In the case of an Injury or a Confinement occurring prior to the Commencement Date of PAC Select 3, and provided that such Injury or Confinement is not otherwise excluded under PAC Select 3, any benefit(s) payable for a claim related to such Injury or Confinement shall be the benefits payable under PAC Select 2.

  • You are not allowed to apply for AIA Vitality Membership for the New Plan and change your coverage to AIA Vitality Series during the plan change to the New Plan.
