Your Power Up Coverage will be adjusted annually based on the AIA Vitality Status, ranging from 0% to 15% of Initial Sum Assured.
This status-based Power Up Percentage will be locked in at the 20th policy anniversary. Such percentage will not be changed in the future regardless of his future AIA Vitality Status, given he remains his AIA Vitality membership.
The higher your AIA Vitality Status at renewal, the more Power Up Coverage you could gain.
Here's how AIA Vitality Insurance Power Up Coverage works.
Power Up percentage in the 1st year: 10% | |
---|---|
Power Up percentage in the 2nd year onwards is based on your AIA Vitality Status: | |
AIA Vitality Status | Status-based adjustments at each policy renewal year |
Platinum | Power Up percentage increase by 1% |
Gold | Power Up percentage remains constant |
Silver | Power Up percentage decreases by 1% |
Bronze | Power Up percentage decreases by 2% |
Here's an example of how much Power Up Percentage an AIA Vitality member can enjoy based on the annual status adjustment:
John bought his first AIA Vitality Series insurance plan – Protect Elite Ultra 2 with Initial Sum Assured $100,000, at age 40 and signed up for AIA Vitality membership. He enjoyed a Power Up Coverage in year 1 (i.e. 10% of his Initial Sum Assured). On the first anniversary day of his insurance policy, he has Platinum AIA Vitality Status so his Power Up Percentage increased to 11% (10% asper the previous year + 1%). On second anniversary day of his insurance policy, his AIA Vitality Status dropped to Bronze, so his Power Up Percentage dropped to 9%(11% as per the previous year – 2%). However, this status-based Power Up Percentage will be locked in on the 20th policy anniversary. Hence, if the Power Up Percentage is 12% when on the 20th policy anniversary, that percentage will not be changed in the future regardless of his future AIA Vitality Status, given he remains a member of AIA Vitality.
Power Up Coverage is only payable upon death or major illnesses.
The maximum Power Up Percentage is 15% and the minimum Power Up Percentage is 0%.
Even at a 0% Power Up Coverage, the Initial Sum Assured of the purchased policy is not affected and would not be lower than a non-AIA Vitality member.
If John unfortunately passed away at age 62 without any prior claim, the total benefit payable will be sum assured + Power Up % x Initial Sum Assured (i.e. 100,000 + 12% X 100,000 = $112,000).
For more details, you may consult your AIA Financial Planner.
Remark:
- Power Up Coverage is a percentage of Initial Sum Assured added for the sole purpose of computing the applicable benefit (i.e. the death or the major illnesses benefit) for once, when such applicable benefit becomes payable.
