Title sponsored by AIA Pension and Trustee Co. Ltd. (“AIA MPF”) and hosted by CareER, a non-profit organisation, the CareER x AIA MPF “LET'S WALK TOGETHER” Charity Run was successfully held on 19 November 2017. As with last year, the fundraising event was supported by various organisations representing different segments of the community. It also successfully raised funds to support CareER's efforts to promote the employment of higher-educated persons with disabilities (PWDs).
Mr. Stephen Fung, Chief Executive Officer, AIA MPF, said, “AIA MPF is committed to advocating for equal employment opportunities for PWDs and to building a more inclusive Hong Kong. We are pleased to be the title sponsor of the CareER x AIA MPF “LET'S WALK TOGETHER” Charity Run for the second year in a row. This event has not only brought a day of sports to participants, but has also raised funds for CareER's important work. As one of the few non-profit organisations specialising in supporting the employment of higher-educated PWDs, CareER has received widespread acclaim for its proactive and significant efforts. By organising this event, we hope more people will become aware and lend their support to CareER and PWDs, empowering and enabling them to put their talents to good use and contribute to building a vibrant, diverse Hong Kong for all.”
AIA MPF has been proactively promoting the employment of PWDs in recent years, through initiatives such as the first “LET'S WORK TOGETHER Internship Programme”, which it organised in collaboration with CareER to offer internship opportunities to higher-educated students and graduates with disabilities. The Company's “LET'S WORK TOGETHER Reward Programme 2017” offers management fee rebates to current MPF members with disabilities and existing corporate clients. It was introduced to encourage PWDs to better prepare for their retirement while incentivising more corporates to support equal employment.
